சென்னை ஐ.ஐ.டி.யில் மாணவி ஃபாத்திமா லத்தீஃப்-ன் மரணத்திற்கு நீதி கேட்டு சுமார் 200-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஐ.ஐ.டி. மாணவர்கள் சி.எல்.டி வளாகத்தின் முன்பு ஒன்றிணைந்தனர். நேர்மையான, வெளிப்படையான நிர்வாக விசாரணையும், போலீசு விசாரணைக்கு ஒத்துழைப்பும் வழங்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கோரிக்கை வைத்துள்ளனர்.
தங்களது கோரிக்கையில், மாணவர்களின் புகார்கள் மற்றும் குறை தீர்க்கும் கமிட்டியை உருவாக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் மாணவர்கள் பேரவையால் ஒருமனதாக நிறைவேற்றப்ப்படும் மாணவர் நல விவகாரங்களை உடனடியாக செயல்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்றும் கேட்டுக் கொண்டுள்ளனர்.
இந்தக் கூடுதலில் மாணவி பாத்திமா லத்தீஃபின் மரணத்திற்கான பல்வேறு காரணங்கள் குறித்துப் பேசிய மாணவர்கள் பின்னர் அங்கிருந்து பேரணியாகச் சென்று ஐ.ஐ.டி இயக்குனரிடம் தங்களது கோரிக்கைகள் அடங்கிய மனுவை அளித்தனர்.

Today, around 200 students of IIT Madras gathered outside CLT to demand justice for the death of Fathima Lathief. The students demanded for a fair and transparent internal inquiry and cooperation to the police investigation.
The students also demanded for forming a complaints and grievance redressal committee and the necessary mechanisms for student well-being as unanimously decided by the Students Legislative Council.
The students then discussed on the various factors behind the death of Fathima. Then, they rallied to the Director’s office and submitted to him a representation containing their demands.
